Zapier integration

Zapier is an online automation tool that sends your SatisMeter responses to your favorite apps, such as Salesforce, Zendesk, Mailchimp, and over 1,000 more.

When X happens in SatisMeter, Zapier can tell a second app to do Y. Zapier calls these steps a trigger and an action.

This article walks you through the steps to create a new Zap with SatisMeter.

In this article:

Adding SatisMeter to Zapier

In SatisMeter, go to Settings > Integrations to open Zapier. You then have these options:

  • Click Use this Zap on one of the pre-made Zaps that connect your survey to Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Tag Drip, HubSpot, or Zendesk.
  • Select Create from scratch at the bottom of the page to connect SatisMeter to other platforms.

Creating a trigger

The trigger tells Zapier when to start the Zap. Set it up like so:

  1. After you choose to create a Zap, find and select SatisMeter in Zapier's list of apps. In the Event field, select New Survey Response, and then click Continue.

We plan to add more options to this trigger, such as including only promoters or detractors.

  2. In the next section, click Sign In to connect your SatisMeter account. A new page opens with two options:

    • Select I don't have a SatisMeter account yet. Create one for me. to create a new SatisMeter account with your name, email, and password.
    • Select I already have a SatisMeter account. Let me log in. to log in with the email and password you use for SatisMeter.

If you log in to SatisMeter with Google single sign-on (SSO), select Forgot Password? to create a password. Afterward, you can still log in with Google or with your new password.

Next, select your account on the main page and click Continue.

  3. In the last section, set up the trigger. Choose the Project, and then choose the surveys you'd like the Zap to work with. To use the Zap with every survey in the selected project, leave the survey field blank.

  4. Test your trigger before you continue. Click Test in the next section. Zapier retrieves your responses to confirm that the Zap uses the right project and, if you selected one, the right survey.

Adding a filter (optional)

Add a filter if you'd like only some responses to trigger the action, such as ratings from promoters. If you don't need a filter, skip to Creating the action.

  1. Click the + button between the trigger and the action, and then select Filter in the Built-in tools list.

  2. Choose the conditions for the Zap to run. For example, include only responses with a rating above or below a certain number. You can also filter on several available user traits.

Creating the action

The action is what happens in the connected platform when the trigger fires in SatisMeter. Set it up like so:

  1. Select the platform you'd like to connect to SatisMeter. Then choose the Event, which is what you'd like to happen in that platform when the SatisMeter trigger fires.

    image__20_.png
  2. Click Sign In to connect the selected platform, and then select Continue.
  3. Fill in the fields in the Setup Action section. These fields vary by platform, so keep in mind what you'd like to happen there when the SatisMeter trigger fires.
  4. Test the action, as you did with the trigger. You need to test the action before you can publish the Zap.

Publishing the Zap

When your tests are complete, click Publish Zap in the last section of the action. In the dialog that appears, select Publish and Turn On.
