Every SatisMeter organization has a monthly response limit that sets how many responses it can collect each calendar month. This article lists the limits that apply to your organization, explains what counts toward the response limit, and describes what happens when you reach it.
Read it if you're planning survey volume, you've seen a usage warning, or your surveys stopped after you reached your response quota.

Limits at a glance
All new organizations start on the Free plan. These limits apply to your organization:
Other plans have their own monthly response limits. The survey limit applies to each project, so every project in your organization can hold up to 100 surveys.
What counts toward the limit
The monthly response limit counts completed responses your organization collects in the current calendar month. A response is completed when it has at least one answer and every required question shown was answered.
- A partial response on the web or through a link survey counts only if every required question was answered. Otherwise, it's dismissed and doesn't count.
- A partial response collected through the mobile SDK counts.
- Dismissed responses don't count.
- Imported responses don't count.
- Deleted responses don't count.
If a new subscription starts partway through a month, counting restarts from the subscription's start date. Changing the plan on an existing subscription doesn't restart the count.
For more on partial answers, see Partial responses: when does a response count?
One limit for the whole organization
The monthly response limit belongs to your organization, not to individual surveys. Every project, survey, and channel in your organization draws from the same limit.
Example: Your organization is on the Free plan, with a limit of 25 responses. If one survey collects 20 responses this month, all your other surveys share the remaining five.
Warnings before you reach the limit
SatisMeter warns you as your organization approaches its monthly response limit:
- An in-app banner appears when your organization reaches 80% of its limit.
- Organization admins get an email at 91% of the limit and again at 100%.
Note: Custom (contract) plans don't get these warnings, and their collection never stops at the limit. The same applies to some older paid organizations. If you're not sure whether this applies to you, contact support.
What happens when you reach the limit
We check each organization's usage once a day, at 00:00 UTC. Because of this, your organization can go a little over its limit before the check runs.
When the check finds that your organization has reached its limit, your organization goes on hold and all collection stops. This affects every channel:
- Web surveys shown in the widget.
- Mobile surveys shown through the mobile SDK.
- Link surveys.
- SatisMeter-sent email surveys.
Note: People who already started a survey can still finish it.
If your surveys stopped and you're not sure why, see Why did my survey responses drop?
When collection starts again
Collection resumes in one of two ways:
- On the 1st of the next month, when the new monthly count begins.
- Immediately, if you upgrade to a plan with a higher monthly response limit.
Deleting responses
Deleting a response removes it from your organization's monthly count. However, if collection has already stopped for the month, deleting responses doesn't restart it. Collection resumes on the 1st of the next month or after an upgrade.
Checking usage from earlier months
The app shows usage for the current month only. To see how many responses you collected in earlier months, export your responses through the SatisMeter REST API and count them.
